Diminutive Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bank, Southeastern PA origin, circa 1870, finely-potted ovoid bank with rounded foot and dramatic stepped finial, the body with brushed cobalt swag decoration, the finial tip and midsection with cobalt highlights. Exceptional form, size, and condition. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Remarkable as-made condition with a few spots on the tip of the finial where the cobalt bubbled off during the firing. H 4 1/2".
