Two Double-Handled Stoneware Grease Jars with Alkaline Glaze, Crawford County, GA origin, second half 19th century, both of ovoid form with flared collar and two strap handles applied at the shoulder, each decorated with a streaky alkaline glaze ranging in color from light-olive to black. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. One jar with a 5" line to side of jar, two small rim chips, and a 2" inverted Y-shaped line from rim. Other jar in excellent condition with a minor chip on interior of rim. H (of taller jar) 9 3/4".
