Rare Rockingham Lidded Jar, Stamped "BALLARD & BROTHERS / BURLINGTON, VT", circa 1860, molded jar with footed base and wreath-form handles, the surface covered in a reddish-brown glazed over a yellowish clay ground. Includes original domed lid with acanthus leaf motif and pointed finial. Impressed on underside with Ballard & Brothers maker's mark. Provenance: The Stradlings; Ex-Skinner, Inc., 1981. Tight lines extending from rim to shoulder of jar. Minor chips to interior of rim. Lid with chips to edge. H (including lid) 10".
