Glazed Redware Figure of a Cat, Pennsylvania origin, circa 1850-1880, hand-modeled figure of a cat with incised details to face and paws, seated on an oval base with impressed floral decoration at the center and an impressed oval border. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. In-the-firing separation to base near front, sealed with glaze. Minor wear to ear, nose, and mouth. H 4 1/4" ; L 3 1/2".
