Two Strasburg, VA Stoneware Jars, circa 1880, a half-gallon jar, stamped "L.D. FUNKHOUSER & CO. / STRASBURG, VA", paired with a one-gallon jar, stamped "J. EBERLY & BRO. / STRASBURG, VA". Provenance: The Stradlings; both purchased from Jolly Roger Antiques, 7 January 1974. Funkhouser with two rim chips. Eberly with rim chips, some of which occurred in the firing, a small chip and two tiny nicks to shoulder molding, and a 2" crack on underside, continuing 3 1/2" up body.
