Unusual Half-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Pitcher with Alkaline Glaze, Crawford County, GA origin, second half 19th century, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tooled midsection and semi-squared rim, fitted with a stoneware lid with raised knob. Surface of pitcher and lid covered in a mottled, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Pitcher in excellent condition. Shallow chipping to edge of lid. H (excluding lid) 8 1/8".
