Exceptional Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "WB", Washington Becham, Crawford County, GA, second half 19th century, squat-shaped, rotund jug with tooled shoulder, the surface covered in a light-green alkaline glaze. Handle impressed "WB". Outstanding form with excellent color. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Excellent condition with some minor surface wear to shoulder, two tiny nicks to spout, and a 2 3/4" in-the-firing separation line to underside, which is glazed-over on interior. H 11 1/2".
