Rare and Fine Redware Bowl with Two-Color Slip Wing Decoration, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, with rounded sides, footed base, and tooled rim, the interior decorated in manganese and cream-colored slip with four wing designs culminating in scrolled ends. Two slip-trailed manganese lines to rim. Underside incised "4". Highly unusual decoration. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased at a household auction near Boyertown, PA in the 1970s. Very nice condition with several small rim chips and some knife marks to interior. Diameter 8 1/4" ; H 2 3/4".
