Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, with footed base and carved oval opening at shoulder, decorated completely around the shoulder with brushed swag and hanging flower motif. Brushed cobalt highlight to opening at shoulder. A crack across top of spittoon. A semi-circular hairline on underside with two short lines extending off from it. Two chips to underside at edge. A small glazed-over chip to foot. H 3 3/4" ; Diameter 7 3/4".
