Three Northeastern U.S. Stoneware Jars, 19th century, a one-gallon jar with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "A.E. SMITH & SONS, / MANUFACTURERS, / 38 Peck Slip, N.Y."; a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "A.E. SMITH & SON, / MANUFACTURERS, / 38 Peck Slip, N.Y."; and a one-gallon jar with slip-trailed foliate decoration, possibly Smith & Day, Norwalk, CT. One-gallon Smith jar with a minor in-the-firing surface line from rim on reverse. One-and-a-half-gallon Smith jar with minor chipping to top of rim and a 1 1/2" Y-shaped line on reverse, extending 3/4" onto underside. Unsigned jar with a 5 1/2" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse/side with a related shallow chip to reverse side of handle, as well as a faint cross-shaped hairline to front base, not visible on interior.
