One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON. NY.", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with fan-shaped tail, spotted wing, and striped breast, perched on a flowering plant. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Provenance: Dr. Raymond L. Owen Collection. Crack in base of handle. A 2 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line to left of upper handle terminal.
