Two Large-Sized Stoneware Match Safes, attributed to the Whites Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, one featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "F. Keisch & Bros., / Celebrated / Bimini Lager Beer."; the other featuring the large impressed and cobalt-highlighted word, "MATCHES". Provenance: Robert Meltzer Collection. Lager Beer match safe with some surface crazing and a surface line to interior and underside, as well as a small chip to underside and a small chip to to front near base. Other match safe in very nice condition with a surface line to top of opening and a surface line to interior of opening. H (of lager beer safe) 5".
