Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "KNOTTS. SWINDLER & CO / PALATINE. / W VA.", circa 1875, cylindrical canning jar with inset "wax sealer" rim, the front featuring Knotts, Swindler & Co. maker's stenciling with a stenciled flourish at the center. A few minor nicks to interior of rim. An in-the-firing iron ping to front. Some minor, in-the-firing chipping to bottom edge. H 8".
