Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R JONES / PITTSTON, PA." circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large spitting tulip extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A short surface line at base on front. Small chips to top of rim on reverse, probably in-the-firing, a small nick to side of rim, and a small chip to interior of rim. Some fry to flower blossom. A short surface line at base on front, extending a short distance onto underside. Minor wear to handles.
