Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "C. BOYNTON / TROY", New York State origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout and ribbed handle, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird with turned head, perched on a branch. A tiny base nick. A small piece of kiln furniture adhered to shoulder on reverse. H 16 1/4".
