One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W-A-LEWIS / GALE'S-VILLE-NY", circa 1858, cylindrical jug with squared spout, featuring a slip-trailed design of a daisy with looping stem. Unusual hand-incised "1 1/2" gallonage notation. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and incised capacity. A 4" x 1 1/8" loss to base on side of jug. Two hairline from spout on reverse, measuring 1 1/8" and 1".
