Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY. FACTORY", New York State origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring an incised and cobalt-accented design of a bird with impressed eye, perched on a leafy branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Spout chips and a 5/8" in-the-firing separation line to upper handle terminal. A few other, minor in-the-firing flaws.
