Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Open-Handled Stoneware Jar, attributed to Elijah McPherson, Sand Mountain, Alabama, mid 19th century, semi-ovoid form with open handles and combed accent to shoulder, the surface covered in a brownish alkaline glaze. Incised "2" at shoulder. Appealing form. A restored Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse. A minor, in-the-firing dent to rim.
