Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with an abstract slip-trailed foliate design accented with curled trails. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/2" pieced of clay adhered to reverse. Rim chips.
