Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Gemel with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Connecticut origin, circa 1825, pair of conjoined ovoid jugs with tooled shoulders, semi-squared spouts, and ribbed central handle; each decorated with a brushed design of a circular flower blossom emanating from a leafy stem. Brushed cobalt stripe at juncture of jugs and highlights surrounding the handle terminals. Exceptional form with strong decoration and excellent color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small, glazed-over flake to underside at edge, a minor in-the-firing base nick, and a minor in-the-firing ping to reverse. H (to top of handle) 6".
