Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, probably Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled accents to collar and body, decorated around the midsection with three stems bearing graduated leaves. Additional swag decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. An unusual impressed asterisk appears below the spout. Exceptional size. Shallow base chips. A small rim chip. A minor 3/4" area of shallow in-the-firing wear to top of rim above handle. H 7".
