Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and tooled rim, decorated with large brushed leaves around the body. Cobalt swag decoration to spout and collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Network of hairlines on underside, some of which continue onto base. An in-the-firing iron ping to spout.
