Manganese-Decorated Redware Butter Crock, probably Pennsylvania origin, third quarter 19th century, tapered crock with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with streaks of sponged manganese around the shoulder and covered in a clear lead glaze. Excellent color, displaying greenish hues fading into light and dark orange. A few shallow chips to base. Wear and some small chips to rim. Typical light surface wear. H 7" ; Diameter 7 1/2".
