Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, American, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-squared rim, decorated with three tulips emanating from a central stem. Freehand cobalt "2" to left of decoration. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A chip to one handle. Minor wear to end of opposite handle. A 3 1/4" crack from rim on front. A very faint V-shaped surface line on underside, not visible on interior.
