Very Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "C.V. BARNWORTH / CLARINGTON / OHIO", Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tall collar and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "C.V. BARNWORTH / CLARINGTON / OHIO", with stenciled tulip at the center. Freehand stripes to spout. Few Western PA stoneware pitchers made for the Ohio market are known. Very nice condition. Tiny chips to side of one handle. Scratches near base on one side. A small rim chip on reverse. A minor in-the-firing flake to base on front.
