One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cumberland, MD Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and ribbed handle, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "C. & H. HAST. / DEALERS / IN GROCERIES / & PRODUCE. / CUMBERLAND. / MD.". Right side of jug with a base chip, possibly in-the-firing, along with some in-the-firing crazing. An in-the-firing contact mark to front. A 1 1/4" flake to handle. A tiny nick to spout.
