Rare Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped Twice "J.P. PARKER. / Manufacturer of / STONEWARE, / JANELEW. W. VA", circa 1875, slender form with with tall, flaring collar and an inner rim design to hold a canning lid, the shoulder impressed on each side with the highly-unusual maker's mark, "J.P. PARKER. / Manufacturer of / STONEWARE, / JANELEW. W. Va.", within a rectangular border. Very nice condition with two chips on interior of rim and a few minor chips to inner rim for lid. H 9 3/4".
