Three-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW-YORK", circa 1815, ovoid jar with open handles, tooled shoulder, and semi-squared rim, decorated with a wide cobalt band surrounding the maker's mark. Reverse large brushed "fish scale" motif. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with drips of Albany slip to exterior.
