Scarce Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA", circa 1865, with footed base and carved oval opening at shoulder, decorated around the shoulder with eight tulip blossoms. Provenance: David Musser Collection. A 4 1/2" long area of restoration to left of opening at shoulder. A very shallow, 1 1/2" in-the-firing flake to top surface. A chip to opening on top surface. H 4 3/8" ; Diameter 7 3/4".
