Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1830, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the body with a brushed stem bearing open-centered clovers and swags, below a vertically-brushed drape motif. Collar decorated with swags and open-centered flower blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A minor spout chip. A rim chip on reverse. A tight, partial crack near base of handle, which occurred in the firing and does not extend through handle. A base chip. H 13 1/2".
