Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fat-bodied bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/2" hairline from rim on right side of crock. Rim chips on reverse. Small surface flakes to reverse. A short, minor surface line to underside. Scratches to Albany slip on interior.
