Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.", circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, featuring a slip-trailed design of a floral spray accented with spots and curled trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. An approximately 4 1/2" network of lines to shoulder. A faint 2" vertical line at base. A minor nick to spout.
