Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Bird Motif, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS / NEW GENEVA, PA", circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a stenciled design of a bird with turned head and floral vine between R.T. Williams maker's stenciling. Freehand cobalt stripes to shoulder and base. Freehand number 2 flanked by dashes at base. A 4" in-the-firing flake at base on reverse. Small spots of fry to cobalt.
