Stoneware Wax Sealer with Stencilled Cobalt Rose Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded wax sealer rim, decorated with a large stencilled design of a rose with leaves. A few chips to interior of rim area. Right side of jar is recessed with two in-the-firing contact marks. A slightly-recessed area on front. H 8 1/2".
