Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stenciled "James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro. Pa.", circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with various stenciled flourishes surrounding James Hamilton maker's stenciling. Bold-faced stenciled "2" at base flanked by foliate motifs. Appealing form, more ovoid than most James Hamilton jugs known. A 3/4" spout chip. In-the-firing stacker marks to shoulder. Otherwise excellent condition.
