Scarce One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with flared collar, the front decorated with stenciled flourishes between the stenciled signature, along with freehand stripes above and below. Spout area decorated with three groups of cobalt dashes. Rim accented with a brushed cobalt stripe. Relatively few pitchers from this Western PA firm are known. A filled and colored 1 3/8" x 1" chip to right of spout. A filled and partially-colored 7/8" chip to handle. Two smaller glazed-over chips to opposite side of handle. H 10 7/8".
