One-Gallon Boston, MA Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "E.A. BUCK & CO. / 14 BLACKSTONE STREET, / BOSTON, MA". Provenance: David Musser Collection. Several small spout chips. Some small bits of in-the-firing clay residue to right side of jug. Two small base chips on reverse.
