Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Heart, Inscribed "Union", attributed to William Macquoid, New York NY, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a heart with flame, inscribed with the Civil War reference, "Union". Excellent small size. Professionally-restored top-to-bottom crack from rim on front. Restored crack from rim on reverse. A 1 3/4" line to top of rim. H 7 3/8".
