Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.C. WAELDE. / NORTH . BAY", New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a tulip with spotted tip. A slip-trailed number 2 emanates from the design in the style of a flower bud. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Large spider lines to shoulder area on reverse. Two small base chips and minor base wear. Some very minor surface lines in spout.
