Two-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG, PA", circa 1880, ovoid form with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and flattened rim, decorated with a stenciled design resembling a snowflake. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 3/4" hairline from rim on reverse. A chip on interior of rim. An in-the-firing base chip on front.
