Stoneware Frog Mug, Inscribed "St. Louis My Home", Signed "Anna Pottery", Anna, IL, circa 1890, cylindrical mug with footed base and tapered rim molding, the surface covered in Albany slip and incised with the inscription "St Louis My Home". Interior with molded and applied figure of a frog with impressed eyes and incised details, surrounded by melted glass resembling water. Underside incised "Anna Pottery" in script. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from California. Shallow chipping to interior of rim. Traces of old green paint to frog. H 3 1/8" ; Diameter (across base) 4 1/8".
