Three-Gallon Redware Jar with Manganese Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jar with applied lug handles, flattened rim, and incised wavy line decoration around shoulder, decorated with a manganese spotted tulip motif on the front and reverse. Manganese highlights to handle terminals. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark at shoulder. A very large X-shaped crack on one side. Some wear to surface and decoration. Interior of rim with typical wear and a chip. A 1" chip to underside at edge. Some whitish residue to surface.
