One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER, / NEW-YORK.", circa 1815, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a stylized brushed drape-and-tassel motif at the shoulder. Cobalt highlight to lower handle terminal. Excellent form, more ovoid than most Crolius examples. Two sections of one handle broken off and reglued. A salt glob beside lower handle terminal.
