Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Mt. Jordan Pottery, Chester County, PA, circa 1860, ovoid-bodied pitcher with footed base and tooling to rim and base of collar, decorated with a flowering vine across the front and tulip blossoms to each side. Collar additionally decorated on each side with two tulip blossoms. This pitcher is a particularly fine, early example of Ralph J. Grier's work, exhibiting strong decoration and excellent color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
