Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and lug handles, decorated with two crossed flowers with circular accent at intersection. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A thin crack across underside, extending several inches up front. A 4 1/2" vertical surface line to front. Significant restoration to reverse. Chips to both handles, some of which are glazed over.
