Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "FLACK & VAN ARSDALE / CORNWALL ONT.", circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a large bird perched on a stylized branch, with curled accents to the wing and branch. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: David Musser Collection. A 3/4" x 1/4" hole on left side of jug. A faint 7/8" line in spout on right side of jug. A 1" spout chip on reverse, which has been colored.
