Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HARRINGTON & BURGER / ROCHESTER", New York State origin, circa 1852-1854, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a tulip plant with large blossom and three buds. Nice shaded details to flower petals, buds, and leaves. Slip-trailed "2." at shoulder. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent condition with a faint 2 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line near midsection on reverse, and a small stain on reverse.
