Glazed Redware Pitcher, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1840, small-sized pitcher with footed base, flared collar, and ribbed strap handle, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze with manganese streaks. Colorful orange, green, and brown surface. Provenance: Collected in the Long Island, New York area. In-the-firing clay residue to underside. Glaze flakes to base. Small rim and spout chips. Horizontal hairline through handle and light handle wear. H 4".
