Fine Redware Loaf Dish with Yellow Slip L Motif, Huntington, Long Island, New York origin, circa 1840, with coggled edge, the interior featuring a large cursive letter L ending on each side with a series of looping flourishes. An appealing design with strong color. Provenance: Collected in the Long Island, New York area. L 14 1/8" ; W 9 1/4". A 2 1/4" Y-shaped line from left edge. A very tight 2 1/2" line from right edge. Two small rim chips and typical minor rim wear. L 14 1/4" ; W 9 1/4".
