Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed vine bearing brushed flowers and leaves, applied over slip-coated clay. Slip-trailed underscored number 2 to shoulder. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. One spout chip. Otherwise excellent, essentially as-made condition.
